Menorca v Tetherdown Trundlers

Saturday Sept 14th 40 overs
Tetherdown trundlers are a social side based around Muswell Hill in London. They won the toss and elected to bat first on a blustery day at Biniparrell. Openers Cully and Frais struggled with the accuracy of Menorca’s opening pairing of Wilson 1/14 and skipper Cotton 1/17. They both just made double figures before being dismissed by debutant Beale 3/49. Steve Phillips top scored with 41 and Guy Grainger with a useful 37 the main stay of the visitors below par 154 all out.

Menorca’s opening batsmen made light work of the chase and cruised to a 10 wicket victory. Adam Lavin was in magnificent form 91* including 15 boundaries and Nomad Tom Brockton 52* anchored the innings well allowing Lavin to cut loose.


Sunday 15th 40 overs

Skipper Roussel elected to bat first having won the toss. The Sunday side bolstered by the Truelove wedding party of Groom Sam and brother Alex playing alongside their father Andy. Sam 98 fell agonisingly short of a century with a measured innings. There was good support from young Will Roussel 15 as the hosts posted a competitive 187/9. Grainger 3/37, Kohler 2/24, Clayden 2/28 and Frais 2/8 the wicket takers for Tetherdown.

In reply Tetherdown were blown away by the locals attack 2/22 from Wilson, 2/18 from the skipper and most notably Alex Truelove 4/6 had the visitors skittled for 109.

It truly was the Truelove show.
