08/03/2014 AGM

The AGM was well attended last Saturday, possibly helped by the glorious sunshine. Reports were given by the Chairman, Andrew Manners, the Treasurer, Terry Saunderson, the Social Secretary, John Duchin, the Club Captain, Roy Sturgeon and the Fixtures and Club Secretary, Chris Knightley. All the officers were re-elected with the exception of Dan Osterbery, the "Webmaster", who is leaving the Committee due to work commitments and Roy Sturgeon is standing down as Club Captain and handing over the reins to the capable hands of Simon Cotton.

Chris Knightley will be preparing minutes of the meeting.

Prior to the meeting there was a well attended "nets" practice and Ryan had a good turn out for the Kids Club.

A big "thank you" must go to Adam Cockcroft who took on the difficult task of fixing the cradle and did an excellent job.

Marylebone CC to visit Menorca

Yes, that's right, the MCC will be facing the MCC. For the first time in our Club's history we are very proud to be playing host to our namesakes, the 'other' MCC, Marylebone Cricket Club. More accustomed to playing at the hallowed grounds of Lords, a team from the MCC will be wielding the willow in Menorca the weekend of 12th April 2014. Come and enjoy what will surely be a historic couple of  days in the history of our club!

1/2/2014 New Nets

brunch New NetsWell done, and a big 'Thank You', to all those who helped put up the new nets and lay the new AstroTurf at the club. It was not all work, work work though and a hearty brunch was cooked up by Dan ably assisted by Nico and Ollie. Dan must also be congratulated for his quick thinking when he couldn't get the tea urn to work by supplying the workers with mugs of ....red wine!
